About Linda

Described as a modern Renaissance woman, Linda is well educated with six university degrees as part of her formal education.  She also has a whole set of experiential learnings passed on by mentors she has been fortunate to encounter along life’s journey.   Her main heart is to help others with the gifts she has been given as a natural healer and life coach.  Her enthusiasm is said to be contagious and she is a natural encourager.

Linda hung up her student hat as she transitioned into the wise woman role.  She teaches others life lessons and helping them on their journey.  She is delighted to finally be in her middle years.  After years of ‘finding herself’, she now knows who she is meant to be and what how she is mean to serve.  She is overjoyed to be living the life that was planned for her.

Below is a picture of some of the things she does which have alternative websites, accessible through Linda’s Links in the side bar.  This website is about Linda, her education and her personal goals.  Her work is found on other sites.

Books

Linda loves to write and is given inspired by the Spirit on ideas and words, which many are beyond her… When this happens pages full of text just comes out… so she tends to write as God provides data… This leaves her with several unfinished books described below…

These are the titles of her works in progress.  Also Linda can speak to any of these items for groups, writing just takes a bit longer.

Reincarnation Examined – Available now for those interested in reading Linda’s Master’s thesis, may be re-written into a book format.

Got Cancer? – Linda’s top ten picks to investigate to complement allopathic treatments including environmental changes, dietary changes, holistic bodywork and spirit work.

Babe in Woods or Mud Coverings – Linda’s inspirational story of recovering from crippling Lyme disease by following God’s voice to hike the 140 mile horse shoe trail.  Details how this hike not only healed her physically but through her encounters with God and his messengers healed her spiritually.

Edison’s Child – A story and guide to help those who share Linda’s Environmental Illness struggles.   Provides Linda’s personal story of mercury poisoning, living in the wilderness and the solutions for body, mind and spirit that she found to help live with this terrible illness.

Cave Woman Street Smarts - This talks about the wealth of innate knowledge that each of us have been given since the caveman’s time.  It investigates how we as humans were designed to live and how that brought health to our ancestors.

Green Baby – Linda’s  nuerobiological and environmental interests are combined in steps parents can take to help raise a healthy happy child.  The first year of life is so fundamental in the development of the child.

Computer Safety – Talks to the environmental issues related to computer use as well as body ergonomics which can impact our health at all three levels of body, mind and spirit.

Sex with Aunt Linda – Written as information I would share with my nephews and nieces that aren’t already commonly known, like the spiritual aspect of sex and why birth control fails.  Also covered are what environmental impacts need to be watched if you are trying to get pregnant, how to increase your chances of pregnancy, what researchers say about coupling and how to make changes of marriage to work better and how to make your sex life more enjoyable and enriched.

World’s End – A story about Linda’s vision of the end of the world.

Healthy Breast – Linda’s Healthy Breast Class in written form.

Allergies 101 – Linda’s Allergies Workshop in written form.

Red Dirt Coverings – Linda’s Healing Lessons from 2004-2010 as she recovered from Mercury poisoning and learned to become a healer.

Diabetes Type II Destroyed – Linda’s doctoral thesis converted to book form.

Healing Touch

Do I do healing touch?… yes and no.

Healing touch is a set of tools that are communicated to nurses and doctors which appears to be a bit of Reiki and Pranic Healing techniques in a procedural form.    This is only a subset of the work I do. (more…)

My career choice

Hum, my career choice… it is more that it chose me than I chose it…  The short version is that in 1997 I was called to serve what I thought was the missions field, even did short term trips in China and El Salvador.  Left corporate America and got my Bible degree from Philadelphia Bible University – even got a Who’s who – aren’t you impressed!

Then the last part of candidacy school I was suppose to name the people group I had been called to… they wanted me to go to China and I left my heart there as if it was my second nation, but God wouldn’t give me peace about the people group.  After a week of prayer and fasting it was ‘to serve the world’… What do you do with that????

I surrendered and that is when God was really able to mold me.  He used an acute mercury poisoning in 2004 to put me on the track that He wanted.  Long story short is that I was designed to be a healer.

I even wanted to be a doctor in eighth grade.  I saved a kid’s life once while working at the day care center and realized he could have died…  I realized if I was a doctor some would die and I just couldn’t handle the fact that I would kill some of my patients.  Today I help people accept death in peace, but that is much different.

I think my near death experience was key at expanding my healing ability and seeing many things that are beyond normal human range.  And the fact that I had a personal relationship with God and much of the work is His answering prayers -  I ended up to be beyond my years in the ability to heal.   I’ve discovered most of the good healers have also had a near death experience- apparently there is change in brain chemistry and function… I think it ties us closer to heaven.  Most of us now love differently, more of the universal agape love instead of the Eros love.  And believe me once you experience heaven, you get a very different perspective of earthly matters.

I took a keen interest in the alternative medicine and really wanted to know how Jesus healed, believing it was one of those things passed down through the generations without written instruction manual.  So I investigated many methods going out to different people groups and learning some modern techniques and science…I am too scientifically minded to leave that out, I didn’t only want to know a method, but wanted to know the science behind it when able.  A lot of my healing friends will do the work and think it is all based on magic and miracles, but much of it is science based that the doctor’s haven’t accepted as standard yet.  I hope  in the  years to come we will meld the old ways in with the new ways as some of the science becomes apparent.  Right now most people think that the work as a healer is a faith healing or magic- some of it is only a gift from God, but much of it is science.

Eventually I came to realize I had what I was searching for, a combination of skills that worked and any new system I was learning was a combination of things I already learned (just a dance by a different name.)  Many true healers hold their cards close to their chest, not sharing information too easily until they know the heart of the learner is pure.  Once they open up and share the real stuff, you see that the systems are all based on the same basic observations about the human body and healing methods… even though these different indigenous groups know nothing about each other, and even some groups even warring with each other.

There really is nothing new under the sun…  just different versions for people.  Basically when healing a person, I tune into what God is telling me to do- that is the key to the work for me.  Keeping an open heart with child like faith and listening and willingness to be a vessel for His work.

Massage School

Did you go to massage school?

No.  I went to Certifiied Healer School for two years.  As a certified spiritual healer I learned many techniques employeed by massage practitioners.  I also learned massage techniques from various sources listed below.   In many cases I have more hours on a specific topics than those provided by the massage schools.

I passed my state boards for licensed massage therapist and am waiting for the state to get their application together for their new laws which go into effect in October 2011.

I’ve learned:

1) Shiatsu (acupressure), Reflexology, Aromotherapy, Reiki, Hot Stone massage, Native American Healing massage and Polarity Therapy from my certification program.  (Completed about 700 hours and 4 weeks of emergence programs with Native Healers).

2) Myofasical Release (MFR) training (over 200 hours) directly from John Barnes programs including a intensive skill enhancement training at his office where I had the opportunity to work besides John and his staff.  (I now teach MFR techniques myself.)

3) Spiritual Tantra Massage and Indian Head massage from a yogi from India (approximately 40 hours).

4) Anatomy and Physiology from Berkley’s  on-line course (40hours) and self study (40 hours).

5) Swedish Massage and Sports massage from various sources including books, DVD, on-line and working with individuals. (Never totaled hours, but a good guess would be 200 or more.)

6) Pregnancy and baby massage and aromatherapy.

I currently do all my healing work as part of my ministry as pastoral care.

Note much of the work I do is a intertwining energies… some of the work is off the body and some of the work you will feel like my hand is inside your body very strongly even though it is may be resting lightly on the skin… It is a unique method.

I also combine work with many other body work techniques such as  Somatics,  Alexander techniques, Reiki and basic stretching.

Hope this answered your questions-
Linda

Healing Beliefs

Wellness groups come in many forms- from fitness centers, to doctor’s offices trying to sound more related to the patient, to holistic centers like Ancient Joy.

Everything I do is focused on the biofield, which is what currently is called integrative body/mind medicine. Working on the spirit side of the body/mind/spirit holistic triangle – with the spirit being the biofield. This was called many things in the past including alternative medicine, complementary medicine, vibrational medicine, energy medicine…

I’ve written some of the basic beliefs around healing below in case that helps you decide if our wellness group is one that is applicable to you…

It is my belief:
1) The biofield is the life of the body (It has a small weight to it – less than an ounce that leaves the body at death. Some have seen it leave at death as a light or energy leaving the body.) Thus we are spiritual beings having a physical experience.

2) Illness is caused by various things that block the body’s normal biofield flow. This could be from toxins, emotions, trauma, DNA… etc. Very seldom is it germs in this paradigm… it is the abnormal energy flow that is causing the body to not be able to handle the germ assault as the body is originally designed. Thus a germ assault is a symptom of the disease.

3) It is the body’s desire to return to wellness if given the chance, but sometimes it is time for the spirit to move on and this should be respected in the healing process. (One of my first questions when working with a spirit is if this spirit is requesting healing or help towards death.)

4) As healers, we can only facilitate others in their healing journey working to remove the various blockages impeding the body’s progress to wellness. Ultimately their spirit is the one in control and will decide which way the body is going to proceed.

5) The universal source, which I call God, is the ultimate healer, there are ways to tap into this source to facilitate healing. The faith and religion of the healee has very little to do with using this universal source, except sometimes it can impede the healing when the healee is spending too much time requesting healing instead of receiving healing.

6) Healers come in various forms, some are educated as healers and some are given the healing powers from masters (teachers) or other spiritual beings such as the Holy Spirit. The second group of healers know intuitively what to do verses following logical procedures and protocols. Thus really good healers may not have any formal education. (I’m a mixture of both because I love to learn and need to understand the healing tools that has been given to me… but admittedly somethings are just from the spirit and I have no clue how things work since science hasn’t gone in that arena.)

7) We all have healing ability just like we can all play the piano, but some of us will be playing scales and others will be playing Mozart effortlessly. Picking a healer is sort of like picking a musican, choose one who you like how they play.

8) The healer’s effectiveness is not only based on their knowledge, but also based on their heart. Why do they do the work they do? Effective healers come with compassion, without ego and with joy. Be weary of those ‘educated healers’ who think their way is the only way, there is usually an ego issue with them that will block healing from occurring. Sometimes they actually inflict the client with pain from their ego issues having to fix the person…and I’ve had to undo some of the damage they uninvertantly done to their clients spirits… true healers never fix anything, they only facilitate the person’s self healing… Also be careful of those healers doing it for the money- they may have started out for the right reasons, but the practical issues of the bills have transformed them into doing it for the money and they have lost their joy.

9) Healers’ courses come in various forms too… the old masters use to know their students for years before progressing them… today’s ‘instant society’ has made weekend courses to learn processes. People will get the basics in these courses, but the real masters of today don’t reveal the more sophisticated tools and approaches to anyone who isn’t worthy… and for the hundreds of students who have learned the procdures only a few really are beyond the procedures… Use your gut feeling when picking your healer, but it doesn’t hurt to ask them about their training. If they have a relationship with their master, it is a pretty good chance they are worth your time.

Hopefully this helps you in your journey!

Reading your mind

I am extremely psychic and empathetic which the healing  work requires, but most of the time I have it turned off because I would get bombarded with messages as well as everyone’s illnesses…

Also reading your mind is an invasion of privacy…   so most of the time, except when in session I’m just a normal person…  I’ll occasionally get a message come through, but not as any intentional thing and it is usually about me…

One of my funny ones was I was looking at space to rent… when my landlord and my eyes met, I got this clear message that I was going to marry this man…   A few months later he called me to marry him…. and his fiance.    I’m an ordained minister… the wedding was beautiful.

But when in healing session our spirits meld together, so those things your spirit wants me to know I can ‘read’.  Many times I read things that your mind refuses to accept.  This is often what brings on disease.  The mind is not accepting what the spirit is sharing and the two is in conflict.

Another reason why you need courage to do this work… you may hear or see things that you really do not want to.  I once ‘saw’ the gruesome death of a man as if I was there holding the knife and I could feel the warmth of the blood.  It was a real event for the client who was forced to kill someone as part of a satanic ritual. The memory was so strong it was like a teleport back to the incident and helping the client relive the trauma which they couldn’t face before.

It isn’t pleasant helping people face their issues, but the joy received when they release the torment is well worth it.
