Science has finally figured out that diets make you obese
I wish we knew that before I started my first diet at age five!
As a perpetual dieter I’ve learned a lot about food now I’m a certified healer and life coach and getting my certification in sports nutrition.
Society is weight biased
I know from first hand experience the frustration of
- Gaining weight on a weight watcher’s diet plan, then being blamed for cheating
(although I told them I couldn’t eat that much food at the start and needed something tailored to me…)
- Not losing weight when working out four hours a day and eating a 400 calorie diet for a year training for a triathlon
- The doctors telling me I’m eating too much and just need to eat less (than 400 calories?)
-Being told I had an eating disorder when I was following
the doctor’s advice on how to lose weight.
- Racing an Olympic size triathlon at 220 pounds and being told to leave the staging area for the racers.
- Being rejected on insurance because I wasn’t under 170 pounds, even though I was in perfect health and in triathlete condition.
- Being evaluated on weight when I complained of exhaustion and a doctor told me all I needed to do is lose a few pounds to feel better, when I had mononucleosis
Now science knows to use exercise for well being not to lose weight and
that dieting doesn’t work, but food does
